Herons Bend Productions was founded in 2007 by Ruth Rosenberg-Naparsteck to research, write and publish the history of the towns, villages and countryside of America.
Ruth has published more than 20 books on regional history in Western New York and Pennsylvania. She holds an M.A. in American History from SUNY at Brockport, a B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology, an A.A. in Journalism/Mass Communications and has done field work in archeology through Tel Aviv University in Beersheba, Israel.
Ruth teaches American History and Sociology at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College as an adjunct professor.
She frequently works with elementary school students on New York State local history curriculum. She has presented teachers' workshops and seminars, and has developed teachers' resources, emphasizing primary materials. She customizes presentations and talks to suit the needs of the audience.
Ruth served as the Municipal Historian in Rochester, New York for nearly 25 years.
